Antitrust laws were established to ensure competition between companies so that consumers get a better deal. Pros and Cons There are some pros and cons to antitrust laws. One of the positives is that it keeps prices down for consumers. Because there are so many companies competing in the market, products remain affordable. There have been cases where companies have tried to manipulate prices in order to stay competitive and undercut other brands.
